*UPDATED WITH POLL* Question for the league

Post by bowbiejuke » Mon Sep 15, 2008 7:20 am

Roscoe Parrish - returned a punt for a touchdown and was given credit for it; if thats the case wouldn't the blocked punt returned by Brandon Lloyd for touchdown also count. I am not sure I see the difference of where the punt is received makes a difference in how a touchdown is scored or not scored.

Brandon Lloyd's TD would be the stat "Blocked Punt TD" which doesn't appear to be included in our scoring for offensive players. I checked my league and I have the same issue actually.

But shouldn't it be.

I would say yes. I think you should get points for TDs no matter how your player scores them or where. I'm not sure you will get it since it is technically not in the scoring rules. I would have no problem if it was decided it needed to be in, though, even if it was against me. But I doubt that will happen since it isn't in there now.

We should try to vote it in for next year, at any rate.

I agree. In my league we're going to add it in for week 3 and beyond. Lloyd is a free agent obviously so no problem this week. In 10 years we've never had this come up (which is why we missed it) since defensive players are usually the ones getting blocked punts and stuff.

We should add it in this league as well. I'm one for scoring anything a player does.

I agree we should score this. Lots of weird plays this week.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

Just an FYI that in my league we added these scoring categories (blocked punt and blocked FG TDs to offensive players) and it will apply for week 3 and beyond only. Normally we would never do a scoring update in season but this isn't something that would effect who you'd draft so no biggy.

I agree, I'll set up a poll and if its unanimous we'll apply it for this year if not then we can add it for next year.

No biggie we had one no vote anyway so this will be the rule going forward 2009 and beyond.

Bump up to make sure scoring rules get updated. Almost forgot about this one.
