I was not trying to snipe A. Boldin from you I was watching him all day online and decided on the way home from work to go after him, only to get stuck in traffic and barely make it home.
I have a proxy out there and will not increase it and if you would like to know it I will tell it you only if you want to overbid me but if you want to try and bounce my bid, all I can say is buyer beware

Re: Devil Dogs
No problem, its all part of the game. Had a bid on him because I felt he was a good bargain at that price. You've raised his price to around what it should be now, if not higher. I won't be outbidding you, I'll leave that up to everyone else if they feel the need. My money is better spent on other players, thanks for freeing it back up for me.

It's about to start winding down now... but this is where it gets the most ugly.
B2M got B. Lloyd at a great price for only 1.5m. I'm not a fan at all but I'd take him for that.
There were a couple of vets that went for the minimum that will probably well out play their salary.
It's gonna be tough to tag a TE next year.

Re: 2011 Auction chat and smack thread
I can't believe the price Gate and Davis are going for. CRAZY.
Also I think WR's are starting to become more valuable then RBs. Whoda thunk. I almost feel fortunate to get Jennings for "only" 8 million. Seeing the prices that the Johnson's were going for I felt I had to put 2 yrs on him.
Personally, for the first time I think I have a solid WR and hopefully RB with Blount. Maybe I'll finish higher then 10th for the first time.

This is like a game of musical chairs, mixed with a game of chicken, mixed in with a kick to the groin every now and then. I never expected this many guys would go over 10 million per season. The franchise tags next year are going to be interesting.

I tapped out on AJ. I am going to be brutal again this year, but I just could not keep going.
Tagging will indeed be fun next year.

Did you really just bid on Alex Smith after winning McNabb? Kind of a dick move. Guess that's one of the groin kicks you were referring to. (really, when are you not gonna start Peyton except for his bye?)
My new most disliked owner would have to be the newb Midwest Connection. Thanks for taking Jacoby Ford from me (I should've just kept my opening bid at 3.5m and let what happens happen, but I lowered it to bid up some other guys)... I hope he ends up as sucky as the rest of the WRs on your roster.
Biggest WTF headscratcher to me this auction though is B2M nabbing 3 QBs and dropping multi mills on those RBs. Good deal on Lloyd but I bet you try to move him and/or a QB for a starting caliber RB sooner than later.
BTW: what happened to the order of this thread weird

I knew it would eventually happen. I like it. It makes drafting that much more important.braven112 wrote:I never expected this many guys would go over 10 million per season. The franchise tags next year are going to be interesting.

Oh yeah drafting his huge, I guess a lot of teams have finally rid themselves of the über contracts that we had in our first couple season and now there is more money to throw at these guys, starting the cycle again

I was referring to that and the 16 times that B2M outbid me on Matt Cassel so he could have 3 overpriced QB's thus forcing me to "pay it forward" Then he grabs the salt shaker and offers to trade me Cassel. well played sir.bonesman wrote: Did you really just bid on Alex Smith after winning McNabb? BTW: B2M has a QB or 2 on the block if you want one.

Re: 2011 Auction chat and smack thread
Well, what is happening with Andre Johnson and a few others is what has happened to me in most previous years. I see nearly the same level guys go early at what now are bargains and eventually I give up on the way to high price because I'm just not going to strangle my team with a player like that. This year though I was on the other end of the stick with everyone giving up on a guy like Jennings and going after the Johnson boys instead and I got Jennings pretty early at what now looks like a great price considering. Thus for the first time ever I actually have a couple solid guys at RB and WR. Maybe I'll actually make the playoffs finally.braven112 wrote:Oh yeah drafting his huge, I guess a lot of teams have finally rid themselves of the über contracts that we had in our first couple season and now there is more money to throw at these guys, starting the cycle again

Re: 2011 Auction chat and smack thread
Here were how the auctions ended the last few years...its a pretty interesting look back.

http://football13.myfantasyleague.com/2 ... ORT=AMOUNT

And then our practice auction that we did since this was for most, our first time auctioning on MFL.

What the hell was I doing grabbing Travis Henry as my RB1 for over 9million in 07? PPK League? (Points Per Kid)

That is funny on the kick to the groin reference..... B2M's style each and every year is hoarding the QBs. Nothing new to see there..... The auction has turned into "who can pay the most for player 'A' for the quick 1 year hit." It seems early in the auction is the time to sneak players by, cause by the end teams are a bit desperate and are willing to over pay. There will no tagging on some of these positions next season IMO..... The draft is HUGE in this league!

This is normally where I tell people to Bow Down to the Midwestside, but in actuality I was on the fence regarding Jacoby Ford around the 2.5m mark because I'm always afraid Al Davis will find some new and innovative way to fuck everything up for me.bonesman wrote:My new most disliked owner would have to be the newb Midwest Connection. I gotta say my most disliked owner so far is the clown that had control of my team last year. Leaving me a bunch of expiring contracts while still finding a way to kill my available cap space and rid me of my 1st and 2nd round picks is truly incredible. Not only that, but who the hell signs LeGarrette Blount to a 1-year contract midway through his rookie season so he either has to be tagged or auctioned 4 months later? The upside is that because he traded away my draft picks, I only have to pay half price this year to try and fix this train wreck.
I have no idea why there's a Campbell's Chunky logo available, but I couldn't resist clicking on it.

Noone in this league. Witch City drafted him. Probably decided not to give him a multiyear contract because he was fighting for 3rd string on the Titans and had just made the news for getting into another fist fight around the deadline to assign our rookies years.bocious wrote:who the hell signs LeGarrette Blount to a 1-year contract midway through his rookie season so he either has to be tagged or auctioned 4 months later?

Re: 2011 Auction chat and smack thread
It may be but almost all my draft picks suck arss and are out of the league in less then a year. I *finally* hit on the two QBs (Stafford and Sanchez) and Jimmy Graham looks to finally be a good pick at another position. Other then that the draft has not been my friend at all.LV Elite wrote:The draft is HUGE in this league!
This year looks to be a whole lot of question marks all over the place. Only 2-3 real solid top picks and questions after that. Bad year to have a ton of rookie picks IMO.

That makes more sense. I assumed he'd been picked up after going to TB.bonesman wrote:Noone in this league. Witch City drafted him. Here's hoping Harbaugh works something out w/ TB and J. Johnson goes back to the Bay to become the 9ers starting QB over Alex the Mormon Smith!

Well, if Maroney at 10 mill for 5 years can't, nothing can
... but Alex is a former #1 overall! You oughtta be holding him down for a few years. Can't tag Pip forever.
