Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
Going to be a lot of high salaries for mediocre players as there isn't much out there and a lot of salary cap to spend. My prediction.

I'm not involved, but I'll be most curious to see how the QBs shake out.

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
Dunno if it's just me, but this years FA seems totally outta wack so far!
There's some major deals happening right now on some big time players, and players I expected to be a couple of tiers below those guys are costing as much or more!
The prices on RBs is insane right now.
I guess we'll see what happens when players start coming off the board and cap space starts to free up

I agree. I'm never surprised at the prices. They always seem to be higher than you think.bonscott wrote:Going to be a lot of high salaries for mediocre players as there isn't much out there and a lot of salary cap to spend. My prediction.
I totally dropped the ball on not franchising Marshall -- truth be told, I just forgot to do it as life got in the way. Oh well, he'll at least cut into someone's cap. (yours if no one outbids you at the time of this post!)

Yea, we'll see. As it stands right now he'd be the 4th highest paid player in the league which is way overpriced.joe.commish wrote:I agree. I'm never surprised at the prices. Cutler needs to be bumped, 2.5 is way too cheap.

Brandon is going to absolutely STEAL some of these dudes when the timers come up.... All that buying power and no one to go up against him. Where's LVE to drop a bomb on Brees like he did w/ Brady last year?!?!
Like I said earlier, I think the RB prices are really low. The WR prices are spread out all over the place. The prize of the lot was Marshall and is going for a premo price, nearly double the next highest WR right now.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

Pissing people off is the best part of this whole auction.Wascawy Wabbits wrote:Haha ya...braven112 wrote:Lurking in the shadows ready to strike and piss everyone off I'm sure.Wascawy Wabbits wrote:I wonder where Midwest is?

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
Actually, I didn't start until today because the constitution says free agency wasn't starting until today, March 14th. It's more than a little frustrating to log in on the day referenced in the constitution only to find out that my auctions are more likely to be sniped because they won't close until a day after the first players go off the table.

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
I thought it was earlier than last year myself. Maybe the the calendar carried over from last year pushed it up a day and I didn't notice? I was a little surprised you weren't on yesterday after I texted you.bocious wrote:Actually, I didn't start until today because the constitution says free agency wasn't starting until today, March 14th. Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
I thought you were texting to let me know it was about to start, not that it had already been going for 13 hours. I can't say I'm particularly overjoyed by this, but unwinding bids for 14 other teams is obviously not a good solution either (as far as I can tell, Shane is the only other guy who waited until today), but considering I'll be at your house for March Madness next week, I'm sure we can find a way for you to make it up for me.braven112 wrote:I thought it was earlier than last year myself. I logged in Wednesday and if Devil Dogs hadn't mentioned he was taking the day off, I would have completely missed it myself. I had to double check the calendar and then start studying ASAP.

No last minute snipes with those first guys off the board this year.bonesman wrote:Seriously. I develop way more rivalries in the offseason with what occurs in bidding than over the inseason win/lossesbocious wrote: Pissing people off is the best part of this whole auction.

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
And QB sure is devalued this year, huh?
I think I got a steal on Cutler. Romo only $4m this year. Brees only $9m..
Brady and Ryan are only $3m right now

There was a few last minute bumps on Romo. He jumped nearly 1 million in the last minute.
I did some payback bumps to the culprits though.

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
I'm way overpaying for Rivers now. Damn that was a horrible trade. Thought I'd go a different direction this year since what I've been doing hasn't been working but with the lack of talent this year it's going to screw me. Oh well, another lost season.Wascawy Wabbits wrote:And QB sure is devalued this year, huh?

Re: Free Agency 2014!!!!!!
On the timing, I've always thought we started on Thursday to go with the start of March Maddness however it seems March Maddness is once again pushed out another week, they better start calling it April Maddness or something now.braven112 wrote:I thought it was earlier than last year myself. My only surprise was when my phone started going crazy at 9am instead of noon when the auction usually starts as I recall (to go with first tip off of BBall games...which of course aren't there this year).
Oh well, we're there now.
