Contract Cap Interpretation

Post by braven112 » Mon May 14, 2012 3:03 pm

I just wanted to remind everyone that the total number of years you can have players under contract for is 80 years. That limit is always in effect.

That said, since your draft picks don't have to be declared until later in August, I'm considering those 1 year deals until then. So you, or other owners, may appear to be over the cap on the site, but if I reduce those drafted player rookie that I've set for 5 years down to 1 and you are under the cap you are ok.

In the past I've fudged the contracts for the guys you've draft down to fit you under the cap but I don't think its really necessary, I think we can just keep this in mind. If you are over 80 on the site I'll just do a quick double check. So far everyone is good.

If somehow this becomes an issue we can readjust.

oh, whoops... I thought the year cap was lifted in the offseason too... but I guess that's why I didn't give Ridley more years last year.
