What was the Bye rule again

Post by acerfc » Tue Mar 18, 2008 4:30 am

I just realized that we are having our Free Agent auction which is running much smoother then last year (except the bump of Westy this morning :x ) however, I dont know the bye weeks for the guys Im bidding on. Wasnt there a rule that we couldnt start any guys on bye. Looks like I will be looking to make a lot of deals :dunno:
If I only would have started the Detroit D, I would be the 2007 Dynasty champion. Damn you New Orleans D

In 08, I lost in the playoffs to Antonio Bryants career game and amazing TD grab (lost by .4). Actually it was one catch

I'm anticipating this could be a problem for many.

I believe the rule was that you can start a guy on bye because of this very thing. Can't anticipate the bye weeks every year.

I recall specifically that you do NOT receive an automatic zero if you're unable to fill your starting lineup with active players. So load up on those week 8 bye guys, take the L and be at full strength for the other 12 games if you wish.

I thought you could start players on a bye.

It's pretty straightforward, this is what it states in the constitution....
Teams must submit a valid lineup each week. A valid linuep consist of no players on a bye or listed as out on the NFL injury report, if another option exists on your bench.

Teams that fail to submit a valid lineup for two consective weeks will be considered abandoned.
Just make every effort to submit a valid lineup, you don't have to adjust your FA/Auction strategy to account for bye weeks if you don't want to.

This is crucial considering we start our FA/Auction as early as we do.
