Lynch / Mega Retirement Q

Post by Wascawy Wabbits » Sun Mar 20, 2016 8:25 am

With Lynch unofficially retired (papers havent been filed yet) and Calvin officially retired, how do the future cap hits work if they have years assigned and get dropped at some point?

Just curious if they're basically no risk investments (IE no future season cap hit).

They both would take current year cap hits (50%). Only officially retired players (Calvin, Brett Favre) can have their future years cap hit waived. Marshawn would qualify if/when he files his papers.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

K cool.
I figured Lynch still applies as an active player until he officially retires

So with Calvin, he can be picked up post retirement, signed for multiple years, and dropped at any point with no future cap hit (only the current year's 50%) since he's officially retired?

Doesn't matter when he was acquired.
