2017 Cap Hits

Post by TheDream » Mon Jan 16, 2017 7:47 pm

Hi,

I have rolled over the Cap Hits for 2017 at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

The Sheet agrees with the Cap Hots generated on the site.

Cheers,

kevin

With Lynch and Mega both signed post retirement, do Geeks and Mavs still get dinged w/ a '17 cap penalty?
Retired Players may be waived at a 50% salary cap penalty in the current season and no future cap penalty.
If a player does not file for retirement he does not qualify as a retired player.
If a player retires from the league after you waive him and no other franchise in the league ever rosters the player then you can apply to waive the future cap hit penalty.
If a player dies he will be treated as a retired player from the date of his passing
I'd assume those cap penalties get waived since no one can sign them between now and the start of the new season?

They are treated as retired players so no future cap hit.

The other part of that rule refers to a situation where you drop a guy and then later that year he ends up retiring. If no one else signed him after you, you could get the future cap hit removed.
