Good reminder for us all, especially the newbies.

As a reminder here are the upcoming league off-season items for 2013 season. Please point out any errors, ask any questions and commish please update if something needs to be. This is all found in the league constitution by the way.

Current

* Trading opens up for the off-season including 2014 picks
* Drops can be made putting the 50% current season cap hit on 2012 season
* Player roster limits are lifted, only limited by your salary cap.
* Contract caps are now eliminated per vote last year.

Feb 1st

* Must pay up for 2013 season, contact the commish. Also helps to put a one half deposit for the 2014 season up front if you plan to trade any 2014 picks

Feb 1st - Feb 15th

* Tagging period, post your tagged players on the forum

Feb 16th (or when 2013 MFL sites are available if not available on the 16th)

* Start of the 2013 season
* Commish will drop any unkeepable players not tagged, everyone still on a roster get's their raise and contracts are reduced by 1
* Any players dropped from this point forward have their 50% cap hit count toward the current 2013 and future cap hits go against 2014

Feb 16th - Feb 28th

* Teams can make offers on tagged players

Mar 1st - Mar 7th

* Teams can match offers on tagged players

Mar 14th 9AM ET

* Offseason FA auction begins, must assign contracts within 48 hours of winning player.

May 4th
* Rookie draft, all rookies get default 5 year contracts which can be changed any time before August deadline

Early May

* FA auction continues, any rookies drafted in the FA auction after the rookie draft must be assigned a contract within 48 hours as any other player that is won.

Aug 18th

* Teams must get back down under the max roster requirements
* Rosters will be set to 22 max, min of 17 (however you must have 20 under contract at all times, 17 active plus 3 TS for example) once the season starts.
* Rookies drafted in May must be assigned a contract or else the default of 5 will stay

Aug 28th

* Last day that players can be brought up on the FA auction. Players still on auction will have a week to finish.

Sept 4th

* FA auction is over

Sept 5th

* NFL season begins!

One question that someone had for me is if can players still be traded thru Feb 15th and the end of the tagging period. I do believe this is allowed, you can still trade a player away even if you listed them as tagged.

From the 16th thru the 28th when other teams can make offers on tagged players I believe they *can't* be traded, you have to either match the offer or get compensation. I know we had some questions on this in the past but I can't remember what was really decided on it. It's never actually come up that I'm aware of, only talked about.

I think that for this year the contract cap expiring date needs to be added.

I looked back at the thread a few weeks ago and I think it said that the contract cap gets permanently removed Feb 15, 2013.

Can make doing trades with those right up against the contract cap a little more difficult until past that date.

I think that the contract cap was unlimited during the offseason anyway so its basically in effect from now on. I can't see any good reason to hold up a trade for that reason anymore.

Do we have a date assigned for the Rookie Draft? Looking around this board, I don't see it, but perhaps I missed it.

Nevermind. I see on the MFL calendar its slated for 5/4 @ 8am.

Derby Day. We should always just say that's the start. I think that's what it was last year too, if memory serves. First Saturday in May.

In the "Important Dates" section of the constitution it's listed as one week after the NFL draft. I expect we'll keep it that Saturday. (Until Roger figures out a way to screw it up).

Yep and they are going to move around the entire offseason schedule so we'll probably have to adjust a lot of things for next season.

May 8 - 10 is the draft date for next season
