Giving this a bump since it's not on the front page anymore.

Is this vote for schedule change for this upcoming season?
Still have quite a few to vote...

It would be for this season and for that reason I would like to get more peoples votes in. I'm opening this up for the other 7 folks to weigh in one way or the other.

What happens if there's a tie? Does one need to win by a certain percentage of votes?

If it were a tie we would have to come up with a compromise of some sort. I think even if one wins for this season it makes sense to revisit this issue for the future since we are pretty split down the middle.
For example a 16 game schedule might make sense for a permanent schedule so we don't have to worry bout a backup schedules at all and would give us enough buffer no matter what the NFL is doing with their schedule.

I've really enjoyed the double headers in this league. I really hope we keep that tradition and don't move away from it

I'm with you there. What if we move to a 16 game schedule for our "backup" schedule? It should cover us in terms of ever having bye weeks on doubleheader weeks. It preserves doubleheader weeks while adding the strength of schedule element from the 13 game option.
6 games inside the division
10 non-division games
Teams would play each team in 2 of the 3 divisions each year (8 games) and would play 2 teams in the 3rd division on a rotating basis.
Top 2 teams from division A play top 2 teams from division B.
Bottom 2 teams from division A play bottom 2 teams from division B.
We would rotate the division we play "based on record" each year. You would play each team in the league at least 2 out of every 3 years.

Am I imagining things, or is every person who originally expressed concern about continuing with the current schedule (myself included) now in favor of keeping the double-headers? I'd be curious to hear from the folks who want to move to a straight 13-game schedule.
Personally, I like Brandon's compromise 16-game idea. It feels NFL-y and solves the problem we're trying to solve.

So that'd be double headers for the first 3 weeks and then singles the rest of the way?

I hate the idea of a 13 game schedule. I feel it would totally ruin the integrity of the playoff seeding.

I guess that would depend on what weeks are NFL bye weeks. I would say the final week should be a double header week if possible though.

I think I've probably said this before but I don't care what we do, so long as we do it consistently and every season no matter what the NFL does. The thing of individually changing some games here and there to avoid a bye is just crazy town in my book. Teams get screwed by bye weeks, just the name of the game.
So 13, 16 or 18 game schedule don't matter to me, just do it the same every year.
If Brandon is up for tracking it (which could easily be done on the forum) then the 16 game schedule is a nice middle ground and does feel like the NFL where they rotate the divisions teams will play.
Three double-headers weeks 1, 2, and 13. If week 3 is free of byes and 13 has, then perhaps do week 3 as the 3rd double-header, otherwise you'll just deal with it in week 13.

NFL Schedule released..
BUMP
4 votes left to be made... Been sitting at 12 for quite some time.
Only 2 teams on BYE this year in week 12 (
http://www.footballperspective.com/the- ... -schedule/)
Week 12 last year was a huge kick in the ass with so many teams having such a late BYE... This year doesn't seem to be as bad. Kinda strange how the NFL lumps 6 teams having BYE weeks on weeks 4, 9, and 10 and then there's 5 weeks with only 2 teams on BYE

Cool. Both my local leagues it's division games weeks 1-3 and 11-13 no matter what. The cards will fall as they may.

Don't think this poll is relevant anymore... I think that Backup Schedule to 16 Round 2 is the one now...
