Can we trade players who's contracts have expired? I looked at it as these players are now free agents and we have to choose between tagging them or letting them head out into the market.

They aren't free agents until February 15th so you can trade them if you want.

So, we probably shouldn't have released anyone yet and just waited until Feb 15th for them to be removed from our rosters. I took your post about dropping any of the players we weren't going to tag as a way of saying if you're not going to tag them then there's no reason to keep them on your roster.

Well, all depends if you feel they are actually tradable. Any of the "1" contract players I dropped no one would even consider tagging. I also dropped some long contract guys like Rudi and Betts as there is no way those guys were tradable, unless I could find a sucker of course. 8)

And for example I've kept a kicker on my team so far with a contract of 1. I may or may not tag him, haven't decided. How sad is it to tag a kicker! But if I decide not to then the commish will drop him on Feb 15th.

If you feel you could trade some of your 1 contract players maybe PM the commish and see if they can be put back on your roster for now. Wouldn't bother me any.

Like Amish said drop anyone you have no intention of tagging. I've dropped nearly everyone on my roster I don't want, and/or feel has little value on the trade market for the tagging price. If there is someone you wanted to shop around for the next month or so let me know and I'll put him back on your roster.
