this is my first dynasty / contract league that is this deep

I currently have caddy williams signed for 3 years at 8.1 million, after feb 15th it will be two years, how much will he cost me to keep him next year, how much will it cost me if i cut him against next years cap number,

can I tag more than 1 player, i read the rules i know the are mostly clear but am a little confused

i do not have excel on my cpu so i can not open spreadsheets

if i tag Larry Johnson, it will be his current salary plus 20 percent correct

if someone wants to call and help explain to a polock my number is 770-601-9379

Any player on your roster Feb 15th gets a 10% raise each year.
So in a month if still on your roster he will cost 8.91 mil.
In 2009 he'll then cost another 10% raise and thus will be 9.801 million.

If you want to drop him now he'll cost a 25% (3 yr contract) cap hit in 2008. So that would be 2.025 million. Of course you won't be paying nearly 9 million for him either so you'll come out about 7 million ahead.

If you kept him in 2008 and drop him at the end of next season then you'd only take a 15% cap hit in 2009.

So just like the NFL you get to decide when and how much cap hit you want to take.

I believe you can tag 3 players, one with each tag (Franchise, Transition and Restricted FA). Any tagged player will get a 20% raise or the average salary as shown on the web page the commish compiled. Tagging rates are pretty high this year due to our initial auction which I think was inflated. I personally predict not a lot of tagging this year but more in future years as the average salaries come down. Just my prediction though, I could be wrong.

No problem. You don't need Excel. There are plenty of free options:
Free Excel Viewer from Microsoft themselves: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=EN
Use Google Spreadsheet
Download and use a free office product like Open Office.

If you want to actually setup and use a spreadsheet you'll need something like Google Spreadsheet or Open Office. The viewer is just that, a viewer. But that would allow you to open the Cap Hits spreadsheet for example.

That is correct. So he'll be So he'd be 15.06 million. I'm sure that is higher then even the average of the top 5. All I can say is "ouch".

Good luck and keep the questions coming!

If you drop him before 2-15-08 you won't owe anything in 2009. His salary would come off your books after the 2008 season

Correct, you only take a cap hit the following year if you drop someone, even if their contract goes out farther then that.
