Just looking for a clarification.
In the constitution it has the matching bids on tagged players from March 1st thru 7th and the auction starting on March 15th.
However the league calendar has matching bids going to the 15th and the auction starting the 21st.
Which is correct?
Thanks!

When in doubt ignore the stupid leauge calendar, it sucks that it dosen't carry over to the next year and I have to manually
update it every year.
I may just remove everything from there and just use it for the waiver wire to avoid confusion in the future.

Hmmm, that's strange, all the dates transfer from season to season my calendar. I think they are off this year because the dates were different last season, remember we adjusted them, most of them up a week or so. I think if you get all the off-season dates corrected this year I'll bet they'll move properly to the 2010 league.
Now, since the 15th is a Sunday, any thought of starting the auction on Saturday the 14th so we have a full weekend?

Not sure if anyone saw the monthly update from MFL but all sites will be down March 28th
Hardware Upgrades - we've got several significant hardware upgrades scheduled this off-season. So far, these upgrades have been mainly behind-the-scenes, but shortly, it will mean some system-wide downtime for your league. Our tentative plans are for extended site downtime (most likely the entire day) on Saturday, March 28th, so please plan your league activities accordingly. These upgrades will help ensure that we can deliver the best product possible for 2009 and beyond.
It may be wise to push FA back or find some other solution, I'm sure this will end up screwing us if we do nothing.

I've been really fired up for bidding to start, but I think we might be better off playing it safe and waiting.

Yea, I'd agree. Maybe April 1st or the weekend after is a better idea. And if needed we could always push back the rookie draft a week or so to allow more FA to be bid on.

Didn't we pause the auction last year for Memorial Day weekend?

You can't simply "pause" the auction. I know we talked about doing something like that and if I recall it we tried a work around and it was a mess but the big difference is that March is going to be a very busy FA time whereas late may isn't and with them doing site wide enhancements I don't want to run the risk of losing info either.
I want to do the auction ASAP but I don't want to have a mess on our hands either.

I sent an email to support so they can clarify this with us. If they recommend that we wait the auction will begin March 29th or the day after the site is up and running again.

Brandon:
Technically, the timer is based on the wall clock, and not our servers actually being up. In other words, players could potentially be awarded as soon as the sites are up and running again.
So, you might want to consider a couple of ways to avoid this, including:
-right before the 28th, temporarily extend your auction timer to several days or so, to prevent auctions from expiring as soon as the leagues come back on-line.
-make sure all auctions are over before the 28th, and then re-start new player auctions on the 29th.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Thanks,
Kevin
This was the response, the work arounds suggested won't work for us, we tried the first one before and that was a mess and I think the best way for us to handle the second option is to just start our auction on the 29th.
