Just looking for clarification on when the auction draft starts. Calendar indicates the 28th. Usually it's earlier then that. I don't have a problem either way but just wanted to make sure we all understand when the date is.

The calendar is very unofficial and every new year the dates get screwed up. The constitution on the other hand doesn't change as is the only official guide we have in terms of dates:

Important Dates

* February 1st is the deadline to purchase your team for the following season.
* February 15th start of the new season.
* February 1st -15nd Tagging Period
* February 16th-28th(29th) teams may make offers to tagged players.
* March 1st -7th teams must match any offer on a tagged player, or lose the player.
* March 15th 9am PT off season FA period will begin. This date is contingent upon MFL opening up the new year's league web site.
* Early May, one week after the NFL Draft, we'll hold our Rookie Draft
* 3rd sunday in August 11:59pm PT teams must declare contract years for all rookies drafted in May.
* 3rd sunday in August 11:59pm PT teams must also cut their rosters down to the 22 maximum on the active roster.
* One day before the kickoff of the NFL season the off season FA period will conclude.
* The friday before Week 10 at 11:59pm PT is our league trading deadline.
* After the conclusion of Week 16 the in-season Free Agency period will end.
* February 14th 11:59pm PT is the last day to release players in the current season.

No problem. I asked because last year we started a week after the 15th (may have been due to an owner being out of town the 15th or something).

Oh, a suggestion about times in general. There has been more then once where people not on the west coast think the deadline is the next day. Example: Deadline on the calendar may be Sunday 11:45pm but for any other timezone it appears to be Monday (say 2:45 am EST). The issue I've seen is that some of us don't seem to pay attention to the time and just see the day and thus assume they have all day Monday. This happened last year at the roster cut deadline in August.

So my suggestion is to make sure that all deadline times would appear on the same day for all time zones. Thus 8:45pm PST would be the latest deadline time as that would appear as 11:45pm EST.

I hope that makes sense and it would hopefully make sure we're all on the same page as to which day a deadline really is.

Unfortunately I will be out of the country March 16 thru March 23 (1 week).

Personally, that stinks for my free agency auction chances..... I "might" be able to obtain internet access where I am, but it is no guarantee and I wont know until I get there. Oh well, I will just have to make all my bids before I leave and hope I land whoever I want.

I don't want to ask that we delay the auction a week for starting, because a lot of us are anxious to start. But is there anyway we can start the free agency auction earlier? I see after the 7th, we have a week of nothing until the auction actually starts on the 15th. Is this to give actual NFL free agents time to sign on to teams in the real free agency? Maybe we can start a few days earlier? A few days will really help my situation.... Just a thought though, but if that interferes with other owners plans or makes it so that another can't do it, never mind then. Just thinking out loud a bit.....

I'm unemployed so any time works for me.

I have no problem delaying until the 23rd. Gives more time for NFL free agency to take hold.
I'd rather start later then earlier though. I'd hate to bid big bucks on a WR next week only to find he signs with Buffalo on the 15th.

But I could do either in the end. But we wouldn't want to start early unless everyone checks in and says it's ok since many may not even log in until closer to the 15th expecting nothing to be going on until then.

I'm fine with a delay also.... I would also be willing to help out with placing bids for the owner out of town as long as he has a phone where he can be called to go over where current bids are at. I work all day in front of a computer so not much gets past me and I'd be logged in all day every day as the draft is going on...

Just an FYI that I emailed the commish a few days ago to let him know about Vegas but I haven't heard back so I don't know the status. Hopefully he'll see it soon.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for agreeing to postpone the start of free agency another week, so that I could participate! I understand we are all ready to get this thing going (me included), so I thank you all for your patience in waiting!!! IT is on next week though!!!!
