VOTE!! Compensatory draft picks on tagged players change
The constitution would be updated to what we have below...
The compensatory draft picks must be the original draft picks (or the next closest, draft pick that is higher that the original, is no longer owned) of the team that signed the tagged player.
For example, If your original pick was 1.15, but you now own 1.12 & 1.09 and bid on one player you would give up 1.12.
If a team owns more than one pick in a round they can bid on multiple tagged players of different types. The higher picks would be used for the franchise tagged players, then transition players and lastly RFA.
So if a team has the same 2 first round picks and bids on a franchise player and a transition player the higher pick (1.09 in this case) would go for the franchise player and the lower pick (1.12) would go for the transition player.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

If my origional pick was 1.15, but I now own 1.12 & 1.09 and bid on one player which pick would I give up? I'm assuming 1.12, but we might need something written that makes that crystal clear.

Re: VOTE!! Compensatory draft picks on tagged players change
Interesting....my take on it was that if you no longer owned your original pick that the highest pick you have would be used, thus 1.09 in the example. Doing it the other way might be harder to track (since we would somehow need to keep the original order listed somewhere for reference), but no biggy I guess, we can do that.
I'd vote yes either way cause the change needs to happen.
The updated wording is still a bit confusing although the example is clear.

Perhaps a clearer statement:The compensatory draft picks must be the original draft picks (or the next closest, draft pick that is higher that the original, is no longer owned) of the team that signed the tagged player.
This would also cover the example of if my original is say 1.10 but now I own 1.12 and 1.15, 1.12 would be the highest pick available and would be used. The compensatory draft picks must be the original draft picks or if the original pick is no longer owned, the next closest draft pick that is higher then the original or highest draft pick available if lower, of the team that signed the tagged player.

Re: VOTE!! Compensatory draft picks on tagged players change
Brandon,
I was just looking through the constitution getting preapred to bring on the new owner we talked about and I noticed that the constitution still has the following statement in the Player Tags section:
"The compensatory draft picks must be the original draft picks of the team that signed the tagged player."
Just wanted to point that out, since based on the voting and the passed change, this looks like it needs to be updated.
