With FA slowing down, and the tagging period behind us... Just had a question about it cuz I don't think it's addressed in the rules.
When tagging a player, is the salary of the player required to be available for the team at the time of tagging?
Or are we allowed the 3 weeks (tagging period + matching period) to make the necessary moves to make up the cap space to retain the player if that cap isn't available right off the bat when the player was initially tagged?
Looking thru the rules, there doesn't appear to be anything there right now in regards to this.
I remember a couple years ago when Vit got his 'Iron Bank loan' he didn't have the cap available at the time of his offer on Cam Newton and had to make the necessary moves after the fact when his offer wasn't matched.

Players that are tagged don't officially have a contract yet so they don't count against the cap until March 7th.
