Trading?

Post by irishpride8 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 6:36 pm

So is there trading going on? This is what I see in the rules?

Trades
All trades must be submitted through the league website to be approved by the Commissioner.
The Commissioner will approve or decline all trades.
Any trade involving the Commissioner's team will be sent to an independent owner for approval.
All approved trades will be posted to the league website via the transaction report.
All trades must statisfy roster, salary cap and contract year limits prior to the trade being approved.
Trades may be offered from March 15th to the friday before week 10 of the regular season.
No player maybe traded that has zero contract years.
Teams may trade future draft picks on year in advance.
Teams trading for any draft pick must make a non-refundable $25 deposit.

I didn't even notice that

Is anyone opposed to trading after week 17? Every other league that I commish and/or play in starts trading right after week 17. I assumed this league was the same. Given that its a dynasty league and trading is half the fun, I don't see the benefit of not allowing trades right now.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

i think trading should start right away it gives you a direction you want to go and what you might want to do for your team in future.

This would not be a dynasty if you couldnt start trading right after week 17. Waiting until March seems silly......I think that date was chosen last year because our league was still forming and we needed a date to get started.

Just my .02 !

I'm all for trading after as soon as week 17 ends and IMO any team involved in a trade with future draft picks should need to be paid in full for the following year. I know none of us plan on leaving anytime soon, but I've seen crazier things happen.

Yep, trading right away after week 17 since this is a dynasty. Both my keeper leagues don't have trading open up until summer but since this is a dynasty and a salary cap trading should happen nearly year round.

I'm pretty sure a trade has already happened as it is. I know I've been trying to trade with many teams so far, no luck though.

I agree - trading should begin as soon as the season is complete - no need to wait until March.

Is trading of this year's draft picks off limits now, or are they just not loaded into the new 08 site yet?
