Thursday Games Waivers
I wanted to bring this up and see if anyone has an issue with fixing the FCFS waiver window so it opens up when the Blind Bidding window ends on wednesday. I"m not sure if anyone noticed but this week we had a day where we couldn't pick up guys or place bids.
When we talked about the waivers last year we talked about moving the blind bid waiver window to Wednesday but forgot to address moving the start time of the FCFS window. Does anyone have an issue with moving the start time to right after the blind bid window?

Re: Thursday Games Waivers
BTW - (and this is not a complaint) ... when was it decided to bring in the blind bid end time to 1PM PST versus the 6:45PM PST time that it was? Is this change because of the advent of the Thursday games that started in Week 10 (i.e., to give more FCFS waiver time prior to the start of the Thursday night game)? Is this how it will be next season as well?
Just curious, as I think it is fine, it just that the waiver deadline time change just caught me by surprise is the only reason I am asking. I mean it is not like I can really take advantage of waivers at this point with my salary cap situation

Yes, when Thursday games start waivers run on Wednesday instead of Thursday.

Yeah, I knew that was going to happen (going to Wednesdays), just did not realize the blind bid waiver end time was also changing as well.
Last year when we switched to Wednesdays the blind bid waiver end time did not change (it stayed at 8:45PM PST from Thursday to Wednesday), but then of course we had two blind bid windows and not a FCFS window.
Like I said, no issue from my perspective, I was just curious

I'm not really sure why, I think it was just proposed that way and we left it. I'm not sure its the best time, its ok, but I kind of think ending it at the same time as the rest of the season would be simpler, then contracts have to be declared within 24 hours or before the player starts his game on Thursday if applicable. Same idea as we have now for FCFS with sunday games.

Yea, it shouldn't be an issue to leave it at the same time for either day.

Bump this when we setup waivers next year, and we'll adjust the time so its consistent with the rest of the year.

Here is your bump up commish.
Also note that I believe I read that there will be a Thursday game every week this year so that should make it easier to set this up with Blind Bidding ending every week Wednesday at 9:45 pm EST and FCFS starting at 10 pm EST.

Re: Thursday Games Waivers
Thanks! This should be updated now, I removed the 15 minute gap between the times so 10pm ET is the start and end time. This is how my other league is setup and MFL will put a hold on the start of FCFS till the blind bidding waivers have been processed normally that hold is less than a minute.

Re: Thursday Games Waivers
Actually unless MFL has changed something you do want that 15 minute gap because if someone is "quick on the trigger" they can get a FCFS *before* the waivers run which may include a player in waivers and thus sniping ahead of the waiver run which could be up to a minute or two after the actual end time. I've seen it happen in league before including mine so thus why the 15 minute gap recommendation. But like I said, maybe MFL has done an upgrade to prevent that from happening and I didn't know it.braven112 wrote:Thanks! It works in my other 2 leagues, one I commish and one I don't. I tried to pick someone up just this year and it brought me to a page that said something to the effect of your league waivers haven't been processed yet and it gives you a list of reason's why it could be. Then you click the link a second or two later and it then allows you to pickup players FCFS.
We can ask MFL to be sure there isn't a way around it though. In addition, if it could happen, we would see it in the previously processed waiver report. It shows all the bids a person made. For example if you put a bid for 1 million on a player didn't get them and another team somehow picked them up FCFS before or at the exact same time, we would be able to see the time stamps of all the bids.

Re: Thursday Games Waivers
I just read this in our constitution....
If there is a Thursday night game then the blind bidding will end Wednesday at 9pm PT (12am ET)
Is this correct? I thought it would end 9pm ET.

Re: Thursday Games Waivers
Right now it's 10pm EST on the calender from what I see. I think we discussed it in the spring and came up with this, I don't remember. I think 9pm would actually be better as 10pm is getting late for us old folks that work.
Looks like the constitution needs to be updated in any case.

I need to update the constitution to reflect our latest rule changes regarding waivers.
