Wow! I guess if you're going to bid, go big. Going to be one heck of a cap hit though in a couple years when he's well over 13 million mark.griblets wrote:Treasure Coast Swamp Bandits

I'm well aware of the cap consequences. Let's see how division rival Dark Magicians of Magic responds.

Magic? I meant Chaos. They'll soon be irrelevant, so it doesn't matter.griblets wrote:I'm well aware of the cap consequences. Let's see how division rival Dark Magicians of Magic responds.

Wow! Well if you're rebuilding a team, may as well do it around the best QB in fantasy!griblets wrote:Treasure Coast Swamp Bandits

He'll probably laugh his way to the bank with an extra first and second rounder and 6 more million dollars worth of capspace at the FA auction.griblets wrote: Let's see how division rival Dark Magicians of Magic responds.

wow
Brees: $9m
Brady: ???
Be interesting to see what Brady will go for in FA spending. The difference between him and Romo was 100pts... Him and Big Ben 200pts...
It's a bold move to drop $10m, 1.06, 2.06 for one position, but I don't think you can replicate the scoring potential that Rodgers brings to a team... Just gotta hope that he isn't on the cover of Madden!

Re: Franchise Player: QB, Aaron Rodgers, GBP
10 million is fine in my eyes, but 5 years is too much.
However, someone could outbid the salary and just put 1 year on him so the bidding may not be over just yet. Higher bids can be for salary *or* years so he is not locked in to 5 years at this point, just at that salary at a minimum.
I personally was going to bid on him but now at that salary I don't know if I can justify giving up my top 2 picks to do it. Luckily I have 2 weeks to think about it.

Great to see the new owner coming on strong and already prognosticating my demise.
Looking forward on seeing how the rest of the bidding goes.

@ Treasure Coast Swamp Bandits
I will not match the offer. Mr. Rodgers is yours.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

Wow, nobody bailed you out of that 5 year contract. What a cap hit in a year or so. Ouch.

Bailed out? As if it's a bad thing to have the highest scoring fantasy QB over the past 3-4 years?
I understand that by year 5 he'll take up 1/3 of my cap space. I'm happy to deal with it.

Then again I've only made the playoffs once in 5 years so what do I know.

All the last 3 or 4 years gets you is a high price tag... means zilch going forward.griblets wrote:Bailed out? As if it's a bad thing to have the highest scoring fantasy QB over the past 3-4 years?
(says the guy who paid 13+ mill for Andre Johnson last year)

Well, this is what drew me to this league. The strategies can vary greatly. I can't wait to see how it works out.

If yer gonna be spending the money, may as well be the guy that has the potential and surrounding talent to put up 40+ total TDs every season.
You just gotta hope that Rodgers isn't on the cover of Madden this year
I'm new to this whole dynasty salary cap thing though, so
