Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
1.03 - Dalvin Cook: Not really worried about Cook's combine, he can flat out ball. Latavius Murray doesn't really bother me too much, he's basically on a 1 year deal and coming off surgery. McKinnon couldn't beat out Asiata in any of the years Peterson was injured/suspended. MIN's RB production was garbage last year, but they've made upgrades at OL. I think Cook will be the lead back in this offense.
1.04 - Joe Mixon: Constantly being comped to Bell/DJ in terms of skillset and was getting rumoured to be drafted by Cincy for a while. I don't think it's the greatest landing spot seeing as how Cincy's OL got gutted this year, but one thing he shouldn't really have to worry about is stacked boxes w/ Green, Eifert, and Ross keeping defenses honest. Hill's a UDFA in '18, and Gio is returning from an ACL tear. Like Cook, I'd expect Mixon to get the majority of the touches.
1.05 - Corey Davis: What a landing spot for Davis to be Mariota's WR1 for the next 5 years? Sign me up! This kid's got some talent and I would happily take the guy getting drafted at the top of plenty of drafts at the 5 spot and saving a good amount of $$ on him. Don't need him to produce this year w/ my WR depth, but have really high hopes for him.
1.07 - Mike Williams: Pretty happy to land Mike Williams here at the 1.07, adding another stud WR to my team. Should thrive w/ Rivers. Some concerns about the Treadwell comparisons after a massive bust of a rookie season, but I like his chances to succeed. Clemson's produced some pretty awesome WRs in recent years, and I think he's next in line. I went back and forth a lot between Williams and Engram with this pick. Tried to trade up to get Engram, but no luck with Vit selecting him instead of accepting my trade offer
1.13 - David Njoku: Was pretty worried that Vit was going to double dip at TE and take Njoku, so I was happy he didn't. I really didn't want to have to decide if I should pass on Ross or take another WR. I thought about taking Perine here as well, but ended up going w/ the sky high ceiling that Njoku has. With CLE dumping Barnidge, it looks like he's gonna be starting right away and could easily be producing some solid numbers in Y1 which'll be a nice bonus. Hopefully I don't have to rely on him and Eifert is finally be healthy for a change.
2.01 - Patrick Mahomes: Baby Brett! Loved the landing spot w/ Andy Reid to fine tune his skills. Hopefully he takes the job this season just like Kaepernick did to Smith a few years back w/ the 49ers. That being said, not expecting much out of him Y1, but here's to hoping for Y2-Y5 that he can be a QB1. First time drafting a QB since joining The League. I offered this pick up to a bunch of teams while LVE was OTC and no one was interested so I went with my gut and chose Mahomes. Thought about drafting Jamaal/Joe Williams at this pick & seeing if Mahomes was available at the 2.04, but I had a feeling if I passed him up that LB would have drafted him at 2.03.
2.04 - Joe Williams: LB made my decision easy by taking Jamaal Williams at the 2.03 so I happily picked Joe Williams, the guy that Kyle Shanahan pounded the table for. It doesn't seem like they're totally committed to Hyde, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Tried trading back into the 3rd round to select Aaron Jones (who LB took) or Jonnu Smith (who BTP and I are battling over in FA right now) but no one was interested.
Surprisingly, I didn't get a single team inquire about any of my draft picks. Thought for sure that with the amount of 1st round picks I had, someone would've been calling.
Should be fine. Really liking the outlook of my team this year and in future years. I've got some pretty bad injury luck mojo tho....

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
It really goes all the way back to the Draftmaster leagues Brandon used to run. It was like the premire league where you can get promoted and demoted based on where you finish. I think the top finish in the top couple league got a free MFL league or something. He did auction-master ones too. Anyway, part of the deal was you had to do a pick by pick write up as well. It's carried over here to the more active owners but not everyone recaps. Definitely fun to go back and read... I loved that draft off Ball, Hunter, Da'Rick man. Even after year 1 they were looking great besides Rodgers. Fucking Ball drank his way out of the league and Hunter... oh Hunter, what could have been

I did enjoy reading those old posts. Had a smile on my face the whole time. The optimism was great, reality not so much. I'll throw something together. Had nine picks tho! Lol

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
1.2 Christian McCaffrey-
Immediate impact! Touches, targets, returns, can put him anywhere on the field. Dalvin was my guy coming into our league but his landing spot got me off him quick. Hope I dont regret this one!
1.15 D'onta Foreman-
Like LB I was hoping one of the 3 TEs would be in this spot. Foreman wasn't really on my radar, but a big bruising back that can change direction hopefully makes the redzone his.
1.16 ZAY JOnes-
Landed exactly where I planned. The WR2 is his. Sammy deep and Zay short with Cardale Jones leading the cheerleaders.
2.2 Curtis Samuel-
Channeled my inner Al Davis. Speed speed speed! Wouldve been the buzz of the combine if the flash didn't showed up. Should create mismatches in the slot but could play the 2 as well as RB. Rookie wildcat?
2.5 Jake Butt-
Thought LB was getting some Butt two picks earlier. Two ACLs is a worry but hes way ahead of schedule. Great hands and likes the middle. Hoping he'll be a first down/touchdown machine.
2.10 Marlon Mack-
I was shocked Mack was the fifth RB taken in the 2nd. Couldn't be happier with this pick! Gore has one year left on his contract and isnt getting younger.
2.15 Gerald Everett-
Mcvays new Jordan Reed. Word is he killed rookie mini camp. Higbee who? Everett got slept on!
3.2 Chris Godwin-
Weapons for Winston. Not sure where he'll fit in but... 9-187-2 against the hottest team in cfb in the biggest game of his career. Godwin got slept on!
3.14 Malachi Dupre-
Planned on going jonnu in the 3rd till i got everett in the 2nd. Which made godwin a no brainer and malachi off the top.
Now bring on Hard Knocks!

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
I didn't have to many expectations going into this draft with such late picks. I had a group of 15-20 guys and I wanted to grab best available that fell to me.
2.13 Reynolds, Josh LAR WR (R) Going into the draft I targeted Reynolds as the guy most likely to fall to me. With a little luck and hard work from Reynolds, I think he has elite upside for less money. Not sure the Rams are a great landing spot but we'll see.
3.13 I still had 2 players left on my list Jones, Aaron GBP RB (R) and Zamora, Ishmael OAK WR (R) so I was pretty happy. I also had 2 offers to trade out and ultimately chose to trade down to 3.16; pick up a 3rd rounder next year and gamble that one of the 2 would still be available.
3.16 Zamora, Ishmael OAK WR (R) Of course LB takes Jones so with Zamora still available the choice was easy. Zamora, is another player that has all the physical tools to be great, we'll see if he has it upstairs. If he puts it all together its a steal and if not he was the last pick in the draft anyway.
In the end I got 2 players that I think are top 20 prospects. We'll see how things turn out.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
1.06: O.J. Howard (TE)
I assumed my choice would be between Howard and Williams here... happily took Howard! Not crazy about Williams. Our league scoring favors TE's heavily too. Howard can be the next great TE of the NFL for the next 12 years, barring injury. I did wrestle with the fact that I already had Mike Evans... but had to take his great upside!
1.17: JuJu Smith-Shuster (WR)
Lets face it... The Steelers know how to draft and develop WR's. Bryant may not stay out of trouble and the Steelers may choose to let him walk as well... that opens a clear path for JuJu to take on the #2 role. I Thought I would be looking at Foreman with this pick as well, but once he was drafted 2 picks earlier I knew JuJu was the easy pick!
2.06: Mitchell Trubisky (QB)
Wow, Staring right at the first NFL QB selected in the draft in the second round of our draft for a salary of $475,000 = NO BRAINER. Yes... there is questions and much relies on his "potential". But, had to take him here... very low risk with a chance of HIGH REWARD. Go BEARS!
3.06: ArDarius Stewart (WR)
I really liked Stewart coming into the draft. However, I don't care for his landing spot. To many questions with the Jets right now. But, I believe he has talent and could end up producing within 2-3 years....

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
I thought you were joking when you said that in the draft comments. How'd that work out with Marucs Wheaton for ya? The last guy they picked in the first 3 rounds that was any good was Plaxico. I don't count Manny as he wasn't any good until Denver got him.
That said, he does have the coolest name in a draft with a guy named Butt and Malachai

Not every draft selection works out...
That's why you have to look at the big picture, history, and body of work here. I believe this organization, for the most part, knows how to draft WR's. Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress, Antwaan Randle El, Santonio Holmes, Mike Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders (yes he counts), Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Lynn Swann.
Not to mention JuJu goes to a team with a veteran QB, great Oline, Terrific RB, and Antonio Brown on the other side. Sorry... I'll roll the dice with him!
Have fun with your two packer homer picks hoping that they can finally draft a viable RB....

Re: 2017 Offseason about to kick off!
Eddy Lacy was pretty viable for the first couple years... now the Bears and QBs... ha, GL w/ that!
But regardless of the Packer RB outcome this year, I will have fun. Those guys seem like characters. I wish they were the Hard Knocks team this year.
