What defines a good GM?

Post by braven112 » Mon May 07, 2012 3:17 pm

Eye for talent? Strategic thinker? Planning? Vision for the future?

Vit you have none of those attributes. You just made a great deal at a horrible time. Martin should be wearing a Vitside uniform. Instead you have 6 QB's.

Usually, when the commissioner has a good team, these are the kind of polls you see...

6 QBs and 3 defenses... Hillarious! Can you relocate Vit to the Southwest division? :stirpot:

I love when I get to do one of these things. For Nate it's kinda like tradition :stirpot:

So yeh RG3.... Do I feel bad picking him up? Maybe intially, but now....not so much.

He basically tore up the Saints like I tore up Poker this week.

And Nate, my team kicked your team in teeth and stomped on their throats. I love owning your teams. You must be use to losing to the underdog...you are a Iowa Hawkeye.

So what does defines a good GM:

mmmmmm... it's a little early to be talking any smack, IMO

though if it might be your only opportunity, might as well seize the day.

I would say part of being a good gm is knowing who you're actually playing...

Most likely week 1 was the height of my season with 3 starters down with injury already. I'd down to starting rookies that are barely playing! :wall:

Time to give credit where credit is due...

Vit's put together a very strong team this season. The pick that everyone thought was gonna be the 1.01 could potentially end up being the 1.16 if RG3 continues to put up 30-40 pts a week thru the final 4 weeks of our season.

Hopefully it'll be the 1.15 if I can make it to the finals ;)

I think that kinda answers your question Commish:
Image

Yeah, that just really happened. It’s funny on so many levels. It’s not because I kicked ya in the teeth in the final stretch. Though, that is pretty gratifying. But it’s mostly funny because I started this year only wanting to have a winning season and I never made any move for a play-off run.
Then one day Nate came up to me and traded me Terrell Pryor (that’s mainly a dig on me for having too may QBs) for Celek and Tobert for Cap Space. And you did the stupidest thing you could have done and wrote this smack and lit a fire under me.
So now it’s time for my regular season Victory lap:

Brandon: Your team is good…mine is better. I’m not just a good GM…turns out I was the better one.

Nate: I’ve beaten you four times this year over the course of 2 leagues…you suck…this smack talk should have been for you …nuff said.

Wabbits: Thanks for the support brotha! Your Cool. :cooldude:

Devil Dogs: Yeah….probably not going to get the 1.01 pick…it might look more like it’s closer to 2.01…so bright side…but not really. 

I know no one thought I would get this far…I got the polls to prove it. So this is to every single doubter that didn’t think that I could put up a good season… Last year, I put everyone on notice that I was going to bring it and I delivered! I got the BEST RECORD! Because that’s what makes a good GM!

Congrats on the season so far Vit :sweet:

It would be quite ironic if you win this week thanks to your backup QB and a big game from Megatron... who you traded Vick for. Seeing as you were criticized for having so many QBs by this weeks opponent.

It was Megatron for JULIO w/ Vick's brutal contract :P

What would be awesome is if they decide to play Terrelle Pryor over Carson Palmer. :D

If Vit and Devil Dogs win, the teams that were earned the 1.01 and 1.04 in this season's rookie draft will be facing off in the championship...
